Research profile
Xinyu Qi, PhD
Xinyu Qi is a computational mechanics researcher and Honorary Research Associate at the Bristol Composites Institute, University of Bristol. His work combines mechanical testing and damage characterisation with finite element modelling to understand fracture, delamination and structural integrity in composite materials. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in July 2026. His research spans bioinspired architectures, fibre-metal laminates and the mechanisms that govern failure in aerospace composites.
